Trackwork at New Plymouth Raceway

Course Proper. Markers out 15m. Track Good 3. 

The first fast work since lockdown took place on a Good 3 track, with markers out 15m.

The quality gallopers Tavi Mac and London Express worked solo over 1000m, running the last 600m in identical times of 37.8. With the Merial Mile being shortened to 1400m and to be run at New Plymouth, this is the immediate aim for both gallopers.

Time honours of the morning went to the well performed Rosewood who ran 1000m, home in 37.2. Rosewood should kick at Wanganui in July.

Another who is set to return to Wanganui is Hi I’m Nikita. She worked over 1000m, the last 600 in 38.2.

The Bryce Revell team has been ticking over during lockdown and look reasonably forward. Secret Squirrel worked with a Niagara youngster over 1000m, the last 600m in 41.4 seconds, whilst stablemates Meila Rei and Ekstrememiss did similar work, home in 38.3.

Call Doubt worked strongly over 1000m, the last 600 in 37.9.

Reliable Miss did similar work, the last 600m in 39.2 doing it very easily.

The Sharrock pair Aricina and Grinder also worked 1000m, the last 600 in 39.0. They too appeared to be working easily.
