Effectav galloped, in company with a Pour Moi youngster, an easy 1000m, speeding up to run the last 600m in 40.1. Trainer, Janelle Millar, believes Effectav has black type potential this campaign.

The Wheeler trained jumpers, Fair Script and Mendoza, with Jewel Of The Naki and Vencedora worked 3 rounds and sprinted 600m in 40.3 and 42.0 respectively.

Darci Mac preparing for the Opunake Cup ran the quickest last 600m in 39.1 at the completion of his work.

The Marilyn Paewai pair of Bachelor Babe and Cavalry ran a strong 800m, the last 600m in 39.9.

The last start hurdle winner, Heistheone, and Yardstick completed 3 rounds with an easy 600m in 43.8. Heistheone is likely to venture to Christchurch for the Grand National Hurdles.

The Kim Reid trained Hi Yo Miss Choux ran 1000m, the last 600m in 41.8 whilst Wynthorpe did identical work, the 600 in a steady 44.8.

The Allan Sharrock pair Valencia and Fields of Fire worked strongly the 600m in a respectable 39.4.

The final horse to work was Royal Empress who strode over 1000m the last 600m in 40.3
