Course Proper. Markers 18m. Track Slow 8

Busy morning and overnight rain, the track deteriorated as the morning went on.

Quality mares Our Hail Mary and Sinarahma worked a strong 1600m in 40.0. Both are in fine fettle for upcoming races.

An unnamed Keano galloped 1000m with the promising maiden Winkle Bay, the last 600m in 38.5. Winkle Bay may go to Matamata and should be competitive.

From the Millar Barn, Smarty Pants and Rhuzick worked very attractively over 800m, covering the last 600m in a smart 38.3 seconds.

Conventina Bay, who may even be more suited to Te Rapa on Saturday worked a strong 1200m with Barney Rubble, the last 600m in 40.9. She is a strong chance in what will be a small but select field.

Wattabreeze and Butler were locked together at the end of their 800m gallops, the 600 in 39.1. Wattabreeze is very close to a win.

From the Wheeler team Pinsk and Ballina ran 1000m, the last 600 in 40.0. Stablemates Redgum and Nogolf Etikit did similar work, home in 41.1.

Earlier in the session Barroca and Skyroca ran a quick 800m, the last 600 in 38.8.

One of the best gallops of the morning was Owen Moore and Twitch. They ran 800m, the 600 in 38.9. They finished very strongly.

Whilst the time was slower, the gallop of Torque Time and That’s Incranible over 1600m was excellent, the last 600m in 41.1.

From the inform Revell stable Meila Rei was partnered by an unnamed Shocking over 1000m, the last 600 in 39.8. It was a sound gallop.

Chief Sequoia was too strong for Roc Ya Sox over 1200m, the last 600 in 41.8, but it was late in the session.

The final gallops were all over 800m or 1000m, with the 600m times in brackets.

Rosewood (39.0), Sumi (37.9), Legally Blonde (38.9), Spanish Harlem (40.0), Bubble Gum (39.9), Secret Squirrel (41.3), Power Of The Kitty (41.6), Hi I’m Nikita (42.2).

Sumi’s was a sparkling gallop and she is ready to win, whilst Rosewood, who worked late in the session, is making steady progress in her winter campaign.
