Quiet morning at the track after Hawera races on Friday, and jump outs Monday.
New Zealand Cup favourite Beaudzwell and Zeefa Zed worked over two rounds before sprinting the last 600m in 39.2. Both are in sound form for their South Island trip.
Time honours of the morning went to Justaskme and Torque Time who galloped 1000m, the last 600 in 37.5. It was a strong gallop.
Stablemates, Keen To Run and Aratoka, galloped 800m, the last 600 in 38.2. Keen To Run appreciated the slightly better track.
Douglas Black and an Astern filly sprinted 600m in 38.5 Douglas Black went a great race first up at Hawera.
On the sand, the Wheeler pairs Dublin Castle and Power Of The Kitty (38.50, and Castle On The Hill with Lorde Have Mercy (38.9) all worked strongly.
The final gallops were solo over 800m or 1000m. Total Sass ran the quickest 600 in 37.9, and worked very well.
Spanish Harlem at 38.4 was slower, but not by much.
