Time honours of the morning went to the promising Patterson pair Winkle Bay and The Hottie. They ran 1000m, the last 600m in 35.8. Both will be very competitive in their next starts.
John Wheeler had his jumping team at the track. All worked over two rounds before sprinting 600m. The fastest were Wicklow and Chief Sequoia. They ran the last 600m in 38.7.
Wheeler plans to take a team to Oakbank in March, which may include the well performed Abacus and Heistheone.
The Grinner won’t be going, he’s been put aside for the season.
The Sharrock pair of Cate Blanco and Tavattack ran 1200m, the last 600 in a slick 36.5. Tavattack has been a shade disappointing but continues to work well.
From the Millar barn, La Strata and Ignite The Light ran 1000m, the last 60 in 37.7. They were travelling easily.
Torque Time and That’s Incranible started slowly from the gap quickening the last 600 on 36.5. it was a solid gallop.
First up winner Darci La Bella was partnered by The Lost Boys over 1000m, the 600m in 36.9. No reason why Darci La Bella won’t continue on from the victory at Otaki.
Eddie Work worked over 1200m, with Nuns Hissing, the last 600m in 39.4. Nuns Hissing went a better race last start and continues to improve.
Alhambra Lass and Reliable Miss worked over 1000m, the last 600m in a quick 36.4. It was an excellent gallop.
The final gallop was solo over 1000m, by Euka Lady, she was not extended to run, 40.1 for the last 600m. She looks well.
