Trackwork at Pukekura Raceway

Course proper. Heavy 11. Markers out 22m
The course proper reopened for semi-final gallops for the PowerWorx Opunake Cup this Saturday. After recent significant rain the track was heavy with markers out 22m.
Likely favourite New York Minute galloped 1000m, with A Good Deal, the last 600m in 41.9. She will be hard to beat.
One of her main rivals, Art Deco, was paired with Catwomandu over 1000m, the last 600 in 40.4. it was very solid work.
Time honours on the morning went to Time Bomb and Light Em Up who ran 1000m, covering the last 600m in 40 seconds even. It was excellent work.
The Group I performer, Kawi, looked magnificent working a strong 1000m, the last 600 in 41.2. he is coming to hand well and may kick of his spring campaign at the Foxbridge Plate.
The Wheeler jumpers all worked three rounds on the sand before sprinting 600m. The times were Newstead and Jewel Of The Naki 39.8, Fair Script and Wai Not 40.7. Macklemore and Heistheone 39.9, they are all in sound form.
Katie McKeen worked over a round ending in an easy last 600m in 44.5. Stablemate Sakura did similar work, the last 600 slight faster in 43.2. Secret Squirrel worked alone soundly in 41.2, he does show potential.
The Janelle Millar pair, Hard To Be Humble and Mistress Porotene, did sound work over 1200m, covering the last 600m in 41.6 seconds.
The Sharrock pair of Party Marty and Landlord worked a strong 1600m, the last 600m in 42.5.
Course specialist Call Doubt ran 1000m the last 600m in a steady 43.1.
