Trackwork at Pukekura Raceway
Tuesday 29th August 2017
Course Proper. Track Heavy/Slushy. Markers out 21m

Kawi was partnered by Whispering over a 1000m gallop, the last 600m in 38.9. Given a reasonable track on Saturday, he will be very to beat.

Blanco Belle and Effectav did similar work home in 38.5. Blanco Belle, although only having one start, has potential and is not a forlorn chance in such races as the Hawkes Bay Guineas.

The Warren Bolton pair of Vincent and Poppy sprinted the 600m of their work in 39.7. They are coming to hand well.

Stablemates, Azamoza and Vill Lille did identical work, home in a slower 40.2.

The final horse to work on the grass was Malibu Miss who worked a solid 1000m, the last 600m in 40 even. She is nearly at race fitness.

The classy stayer Pentathlon continued his preparation to a possible return to racing on Saturday, working a round on the sand with Cavalry sprinting the last 600m in 41.8. Whilst he generally takes improvement from his early starts, he does look well.

The Tony Corric trained Master Courtsman recorded the fastest 600m on the sand 40.3. After a brief let up he is progressing well.

The Wheeler pair of Mendip and Irish Flame worked over 1000m, the last 600m in 41.9. Irish Flame may race on Saturday, or be reserved for the Wanganui Fillies race.

The Rob Patterson pair of Our Milo and Fascino Lass worked keenly over 1000m, the last 600m in 41.1. Fascino Lass has speed and won’t be hard to place.

BROUGHT TO YOU BY next race day at Pukekura Raceway, Linwood Park Spring Racing, Thursday 14 September.

Please note: There were no jump outs help on Monday due to heavy rain and surface flooding.
