Trackwork at New Plymouth Raceway

Tuesday 22nd September 2020

Course Proper. Markers 22m. Track Dead 6

Lovely track this morning, but unfortunately expect quite a bit of rain before feature race day on Saturday.

Time honours of the morning went to Gerda and Our Hail Mary who ran 1000m, scampering the last 600m in 36.5.

All the stable stars were on show from the powerful Patterson team. Aridity and Coventina Bay worked over 1000m, as did Lady Rudolph solo. They ran 37.0 and 37.2 respectively for the last 600m. These three all performed very well at the recent Te Rapa trials and will be worth following closely.

An excellent gallop by Total Sass and Rosewood over 1200m, the last 600 in 37.4. Total Sass is close to a win.

Last start winner, Nogolf Etikit, and Irish Flare worked over a round before quickening the last 600m in 37.9. Nogolf Etikit will attempt the staying 3210 test on Saturday, if she makes the field.

An unnamed Dissident of Warren Bolton’s galloped with Bold Bette over 1000m, the last 600m in 38.9. Bold Bette has improved with its first up run.

From the Wheeler stable, Red Gum and Black Eyed Sue ran 1000m, the last 600 in 38.7.

Remarx and Enchanted Lady did similar work, home in 38.3. Remarx needs a better track to show race form.

From the Sharrock barn Collinstreet and Just Ask Me worked from the 1400, and sped up to run the last 600 in 37.0. It was a sound gallop.

Hi I’m Nikita worked strongly over two laps before sprinting the last 600 in 37.6. It was a great gallop.

A Per Incanto and a Charm Spirit from the Millar stable were paired over 1000m, the last 600 in 38.0.

The Big Boss and a Pins from the Wheeler stable did similar work, also home in 38.0.

Last start runner up Power Of The Kitty galloped 1200m with Wine N Dine, the last 600 in 38.2. Power Of The Kitty was just run down last week and is due to break her maiden status.

The last two gallops were solo over 1200 and 1400. Penelope Cruz (37.5), Ekstrememiss (39.1). Ekstrememiss is worth following, especially as the tracks get better than Heavy.
