Trackwork at New Plymouth Raceway
Thursday 28th May 2020
Course Proper. Markers out 17m. Track Dead / Slow.

With two good drying days since the wet weather earlier in the week, the track dried significantly and was in the Dead / Slow range.

Fastest time of the morning was the solo gallop of London Express who ran 1000m, the last 600 in 36.1. Is coming to hand well.

Only marginally slower were the stablemates Collinstreet and Penelope Cruz who did similar work, home in 36.4.

The jumpers, Grinner and Abacus, worked over a round galloping strongly from the 1200m, the last 600 in 39.1. Trainer, John Wheeler, fresh from another hole in one golf – his third, is delighted with the progress of all his jumping team.

Macklemore and Lorde Have Mercy did similar work, the last 600m in 38.7. Lorde Have Mercy has been schooling and looks well.

The good gallopers Tavi Mac and Mars Bar were paired over 1000m, the last 600m in 37.0. Both were strong at the line.

Secret Squirrel galloped well in company with a Niagara over 1000m, the last 600 in 38.5. Cleaver was well held galloping in company with Nogolf Etikit over 1000m, the last 600 in 38.6. Neither were fully extended.

Stablemates, Meila Rei and Ekstrememiss, were impressive although not after time they looked fit running 1000m, the last 600 in 38.9.

The Sharrock duo Aricina and Grinder also looked well when running 1000m, the last 600m in 37.3.

The final gallopers were all over 1000m with 600m time in brackets.

Hi I’m Nikita (39.8), Call Doubt (38.1), Rosewood (38.5). All are coming to hand well for a resumption in racing.

Brought to you by the next meeting at New Plymouth Raceway, Friday 28 August.
