Tuesday 28th January 2020
Course Proper. Markers out 23m. Track:  Dead 4.

With a premier race day on Saturday, locals were out in full force this morning on a track that had just a bit of give in it.

Time honours on the morning went to the Sandy Dravitzki pair, Euka Lady and Melody Rock, who sprinted 1000m, the last 600 in 36.6. it was attractive work.

Sinarahma was only slightly slower when working solo, coming home the last 600 in 36.7. Sinarahma will in all likelihood be saved for the Wairarapa Breeders Stakes, Saturday week.

Stablemate, Our Hail Mary, also worked solo over 1000m, the last 600 in 36.8. It was great work and she will be hard to beat on Saturday.

The promising Coventina Bay worked 1000m in company with Barney Rubble, the last 600 in 37.3. Coventina Bay is over a slight problem and is ready to rock ‘n’ roll on Saturday.

Stablemates, Aridity and Malo Bik, worked a round before sprinting the last 600m in 37.6. Malo Bik will set up a very interesting PowerWorx Taranaki Cup.

Irish Flame was paired with Beaudzwell over 1000m, home in 38.4. Irish Flame is not without a chance fresh-up on Saturday.

Remarx was paired with Wicklow over 1400m, the last 600 in 39.1. Remarx will bounce back.

The Adams pair, Spondulix and Aratoka worked 1200m, the last 600 in 37.9. They appeared strong at the line.

Cleaver, who disappointed last start, worked with Wooden Red over 1400m, the last 600m in 37.9. He needs to settle on Saturday to be a chance.

The final gallops were all solo over 1000m or 1200m, with 600m, times in brackets.

Master Courtsman (39.0), Torque Time (38.7), Regal Rock (39.1), Natty Pagger (38.9).
