Trackwork at New Plymouth Raceway

Quite a busy morning on a track that was just Slow.

Time honours of the morning went to the race day rivals, Mars Bar and Tavi Mac, who worked a solid 1000m, the last 600 in a quick 37.9. Both are in top form.

Monkey Shoulder continued to impress when working 1200m in company of Rathvilly. They ran the last 600 in 38.4.

Mal Dee was partnered by Smarty Pants over 1000m, cover the last 600m in 38.7 seconds. Smarty Pants is progressing towards at start at New Plymouth on the 1st of November.

Spondulix, who is nearly ready to race again, was partnered by Yes I’m Royal over 1000m, the last 600 in great fashion at 38.3.

Last start winner, Tinkalicious, worked with stablemate Ruby Love, over 1200m, the last 600 in 38.5. She is Trentham bound and will be very competitive if the track is Dead.

Aratoka and Tarabeebee, after short let ups, are coming to hand well. They worked a strong 1000m, home in 39.5.

Only slightly slower were the Millar pair, Showmethebubbles and La Strata. Their final 600m was 39.9 seconds.

Irish Flame was partnered by Cleaver over 1200m, the last 600 in 39.4. Irish Flame didn’t get much luck last start and can be competitive again soon.

Roc Ya Socks looked improved with his first up run, when running 1200m, in company with a Zed mare from the Wheeler stables. They ran the last 600 in 40.1.

Waisake, who is in the middle of a campaign aimed at the Wellington Cup worked over 1200m with Sinarahma, the last 600 in 39.2. Waisake may run at New Plymouth next week.

The following were solo gallops over 1000m or 1200m, with final 600m time in brackets. Here We Go (38.4), Exstrememiss (40.8), Gerda (41.4), Hi I’m Nikita (38.6), Whenharrymetsaddle (42.1). Exstrememiss in particular worked very well and will be very competitive when she gets to 2000m.
