Trackwork at Pukekura Raceway

With Jump Outs on Monday the trackwork involved horses racing this weekend.

I Am Poppy and stablemate, Grey Invader, preparing for Wanganui, worked over 1000m, the last 600 in 37.45. Both horses look in good order.

Carlow worked over a round at three quarter pace then completed a full round of strong work with the last 600 in 38.95. He steps up to the R85 3300m at Otaki on Friday.

Lay Off and Jackson Road worked over 1000m, the last 600m in 37.10. Jackson Road benefited from his run at New Plymouth last Friday and both horses are likely to start at New Plymouth on the 1st of December.

Kaiwaka worked over 1000m, cover the last 600m in 37.85 seconds. She appeared to adapt to the better track.

First up winner, Cheveio, with Bryce Revell worked alone over 1000m, the last 600 in 39.17. Cheveio is likely start next at Wellington on the 3rd of December.

Magic Shaft turned on the speed from the 800m, running home powerfully from the 600m in 35.50. Trainer, Don Caskey, has him racing trim and will nominate at Otaki and Auckland.
